Sport Lisboa e Benfica, more commonly known simply as Benfica, was founded in 1904. The team plays home matches at 64,642-capacity Estadio da Luz. The Eagles are the current champions of the Primeira Liga, the top division in Portugal. Benfica won the top division in Portugal a record total of 35 times, including three consecutive league titles between 2013 and 2016. The team won a European Double (domestic league and European Cup) in 1960-61 and retained the European Cup in the following season 1961-62.
