The French national football team presently ranks 6th in the FIFA rankings issued in February 2017. The team managed by Didier Deschamps lost the European Championship which they hosted last summer after extra time against Portugal when a goal by Eder in the 109th minute handed Portugal their first ever major trophy. France had won this competition in 1984 (which they also hosted) and in 2000 (hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands).
The French Football Federation and kit supplier Nike have launched a new third kit to be used for the upcoming year. It features a very elegant modern look for the French team and its supporters. It will be used alongside the team’s blue home shirt and white away shirt. It features a black base colour with metallic Nike Swoosh and a blue-toned French Football Federation crest. This shirt is complemented by black shorts and socks.
