It’s all about timing. And the timing of the launch of Paul Pogba’s Adidas collection was totally wrong. Coming just days after a mistake by Pogba handed arch-rivals Liverpool a penalty after he handled the ball in the area while jumping to clear, Adidas have launched the new collection for the star man. Irrespective of this unfortunate mistake, the current season has been fairly positive for the Frenchman, yet he is far from proving his money’s worth as his boyhood club paid £89 million to re-acquire his services from Juventus. As his manager explained however, he is showing good qualities to merit the captain’s armband in the future once Rooney hangs up his boots. He is also a player with massive marketing potential.
Adidas are in fact monetizing the cash-cow that comes with being a record-breaking signing who can be a world-class midfielder for at least the next decade. A range of Pogba leisure wear was unveiled by Adidas featuring the player himself in the photographs. Featuring a smart black colour with gold graphics, the range includes leisure t-shirts, a jacket as well as trainers similar to the ACE17+ Purecontrol football boots unveiled some days ago. The range will be available at leading sportswear stores like our partners Kitbag and JD Football in the coming weeks. You can see the range below:
