Funded by Abu Dhabi United Group from the United Arab Emirates, Manchester City are now one of the wealthiest clubs in world football after being taken over in 2008. Since then, the Citizen, whose last triumph in the First Division came back in 1967/68, won the prestigious Premier League trophy twice: in 2011/12 under the management of Roberto Mancini with the same number of points (89 points) as Manchester United but with a better goal difference, and in 2013/14 under the management of Manuel Pellegrini with 86 points and a two-point cushion over Liverpool. The team is presently managed by former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.
These are the football kits being used by Manchester City during the 2016-17 campaign. They are the only club in the Premier League to have their kits designed by Nike during the 2016-17 season, as the American sportswear brand significantly fell behind German rival Adidas. The home kit has a sky blue base colour with a darker shade of blue on the shoulders and sleeves. The away shirt has a black base colour with dark red shoulders and sleeves. The third shirt on the other hand features a gradient style fading from orange into purple with horizontal stripes. The shoulders and sleeves of the third shirt are plain orange. The sponsor of the Manchester City kits is Etihad Airways.
