Minnesota United FC was founded in March 2015 and will be playing their inaugural MLS campaign this season, as a member of the Western Conference. The club’s kits are sponsored by American retail store Target, and manufactured by the MLS official kit supplier, Adidas.
“I can’t wait to see our players and fans proudly displaying the iconic Target bullseye across their chests,” said Minnesota United President Nick Rogers. “Target is making a major push into soccer in the U.S., including as the presenting sponsor of this year’s MLS All-Star Game in Chicago, and the entire club is thrilled to have Target as a partner.”
It’s an honour to be the first front-of-jersey sponsor for Minnesota United FC and help bring soccer to the Twin Cities, which has been Target’s hometown for more than 50 years,” said William White, vice president of marketing for Target. “Target has a long history of supporting our local teams and we’re excited to represent the Loons at home and throughout the country on their inaugural kits.”
The new Minnesota United home shirt is primarily grey with a light blue diagonal sash across the front of the shirt. The club crest is featured on the top left part of the chest with the adidas logo just opposite. The adidas 3-stripes are also featured on the sides of the shirt whilst the iconic Target logo dominates the front of the shirt.
For their away fixtures, the Loons will be wearing a primarily white shirt with grey panels on the shoulders. The adidas 3-stripes are featured in light blue on the shoulders whilst the adidas logo is in black on the top right part of the chest.
