San Lorenzo is a football club from Argentina currently playing in the Primera Division. The team finished 2nd in the 2015 Argentine Primera Division. Back in 2015, it was reported that current United States President Donald Trump wanted to buy the club, but the deal never materialized. One of the best known supporters of San Lorenzo is Pope Francis.
The new kits as manufactured by Nike have been unveiled by the club for the 2017 season. The sponsor is Banco Ciudad, whose logo appears on both front and back of the shirts.
The home kit body is vertically striped in red and dark blue, with the sleeves being plain dark blue, while a large part of the back, excluding the lower part, is also a patch of dark blue. The year 1908 features on the back of the neck, being the year when the club was founded.
Using the same Nike template, the away shirt has a white base colour with dark blue sleeves, a dark blue stripe on each side of the body, and a bright red stripe around the back part of the collar.
Back in the days, Donald J. Trump had tried to widen his business interests into the football industry, first by looking to buy Colombian club Atletico Nacional and then expressing an interest in San Lorenzo. The club has a proud history, having won the top division in Argentina a total of 15 times and the 2014 Copa Libertadores. Below is a picture of Pope Francis meeting the team after their triumph in 2014.
