The Saudi Arabia football team is participating in Group B of the Asian section of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers to be hosted by Russia. After five matches played, Saudi Arabia won three, drew one and lost one to currently rank 1st in their group, with the top two teams qualifying automatically. Saudi Arabia qualified for four consecutive World Cups between 1994 and 2006, but missed out on the 2010 and 2014 events hosted by South Africa and Brazil respectively. The Saudi Arabian team presently ranks 54th in the FIFA Rankings as at December 2016. The team is presently managed by Bert van Marwijk, who was manager of the Netherlands between 2008 and 2012.
The new football kit of Saudi Arabia has been launched by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and kit supplier Nike. The new football kit to be used between 2017 and 2018 is based on a standard Nike template and has a white base colour. The kit has a green stripe detail around the back of the white collar and on each side of the body. The Nike Swoosh, the famous Nike logo, appears in green on the right side of the chest.
