The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has revealed the new kits that the Uganda national football team will be wearing during the upcoming 2017 African Cup of Nations. The kits are manufactured by Italian brand Errea.
This will be Uganda’s sixth appearance in the African Cup of Nations. Their last appearance was in the 1978 edition when they finished runners-up to Ghana. Uganda have been draw in Group D of the 2017 edition of the African tournament, and will need to get good results against Ghana, Mali and Egypt in order to qualify to the knock-out rounds.
The new Uganda home shirt is primarily red, with black on the sides of the shirts and two yellow strips running down the left side of the shirt. Black and yellow bands surround the sleeve hems.
The away shirt uses the exact same template as that of the home shirt, with the primary colour being white, and red and black detail on the sides of the shirt.
FUFA to invite Ugandans to submit new kit designs
FUFA also announced that they will soon launch a campaign to get the public to submit designs for the new Uganda shirts as the above shirts will only be used during the upcoming 2017 African Cup. “The best design will be considered as the new Uganda Cranes jersey which will be used during the 2019 AFCON campaign”, revealed FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein.
